Carmen Ortiz Larsen, President
Ms. Larsen is director of programs at the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Montgomery County. She was sworn in as a member of the Maryland Governor's Commission on Hispanic Affairs in early 2008. She has been vice president of Passion for Learning and co-chair of the Latin American Advisory Group to the Montgomery County Maryland Executive since 2005.
She works with the US House Small Business Committee in support of legislation impacting small business.
As a representative of and advocate for the Hispanic business community, Ms. Larsen has served as the president of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Montgomery County (2003-2005), vice-chair of the Latin American Management Association (1998-2007), and vice-chair and chair of the Hispanic Business Conference of Maryland (2005, 2006).
As a resident with a strong community spirit, Ms. Larsen serves on the Montgomery County Workforce Investment Board and on the board of Montgomery Alliance, a charitable foundation. She has served as a member of the Montgomery County Gang Violence Prevention Task Force, worked on the Community Action Committee at Wheaton High School and served as a mentor in the Goals for Girls program at Gaithersburg Middle School in 2006-2007.
Ms. Larsen is a 2004 graduate of Leadership Montgomery.
