Juvenile Drug Court Program
AQUAS supported the Juvenile Drug Court Program of the Superior Court of D.C. to develop a Juvenile Drug Case Management Information System (JDCMIS). The system allows the user to enter and track information regarding an apprehended and sentenced juvenile, and evaluative reports as the juvenile moves through rehabilitation programs. It allows the user to analyze outcomes in juvenile repeat offenses, based on treatment/rehabilitation programs and juvenile profiles, giving a clearer picture of the relationships between rehabilitation efforts and further court appearances. AQUAS worked with D.C. Courts staff to maintain and enhance the JDCMIS. Among the enhancements that were identified, AQUAS developed research queries and reports, modifications to existing statistical reports, design of management progress reports, and development of Case Review and Administrative Review tracking and control. The system currently supports process and workflow for periodic administrative reviews and follow-ups. This multi-user client/server database application uses Visual Basic 6.0 / MS Access 2000 with SQL Server 7.0 for the backend database.
