The State of Maryland (Annapolis)
As a subcontractor to OAO Corporation, AQUAS provided technical services to review, test and validate the effectiveness of implemented system changes to financial management systems for the state of Maryland. The effort included scenario definition and testing, and independent validation and verification (IV&V) of Y2K-remediated systems including IDMS, DB2, VSAM, COBOL, and PL/1 programs and files in MVS mainframe environments, under TSO/ISPF and CICS.
AQUAS designed and conducted Y2K testing on the Relational Statewide Accounting and Reporting System (R*STARS) for the purpose of providing independent validation and verification of the R*STARS program for Y2K compliance. This work involved online testing design, conducting the actual testing, training other testers, and making major contributions to the deliverable products and reports. The tested system was the largest and most customized version of R*STARS development to date, receiving data from more than 400 State agencies. R*STARS is a CICS application installed on an IBM/MVS with TSO/ISPF.
