Business process reengineering
U.S. Small Business Administration
AQUAS assisted the U.S. Small Business Administration in a major reengineering project designed to dramatically improve information access and exchange within the SBA as well as between SBA and it's business partners, utilizing client/server and Internet/intranet/extranet technologies.
As part of this effort, AQUAS designed, developed, deployed, documented and tested the Partner Identification and Management System (PIMS), a three-tier, Sybase and web-enabled information system for managing financial institution data. AQUAS was involved in the full system development life cycle. Tasks included conducting Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions and one-on-one interviews to collect functional requirements, designing the system using ER-win and BP-win CASE tools and developing a prototype of the system. AQUAS also conducted peer reviews, established test and verification procedures, and conducted unit, system and integration testing to verify that the system met all the functional requirements.
Further, using state-of-the-art replication technology, AQUAS designed, developed, implemented, and tested the stored procedures and system interfaces required to replicate Oracle data from Thomson Financial Services to the SBA's client/server Sybase environment, a system designed to dramatically improve the accuracy and timeliness of the SBA's database.
